What do you think about the idea of instant replay in baseball?
I remember reading an article maybe two weeks ago where Bud Selig talked about a lot of things (I’ll try to find it and I’ll post it later if I can) and he discussed instant replay. He said he was more of a traditionalist and that part of the game was human error and he doesn’t support instant replay for those reasons.
As for me, today during the Yankees game vs. the Royals, there was an extremely close call regarding Mark Teixeira reaching first base. He was called out, but had he reached safely, the bases would have been loaded with A-rod up to bat (talk about a dramatic setting for his potential 600th HR!) , and the outcome of the game could have been significantly different. In fact, after looking at several slow-motion shots of the play, the announcers were able to catch a shot that showed he was in fact safe–his foot was on base and the ball was not in the first baseman’s glove–but the play happened so fast it was hard to catch without reviewing. I can’t help but think that if instant replay were involved in baseball a lot of games/plays would turn out differently.
So, are you for or against? Do you like the idea, or are you more of a traditionalist & like the human element of the calls? I think it would be nice to have, but it would probably add so much extra time to the game as people would want reviews for every close play.
As always, thanks for answering (:
Well it’s not the exact article, but it is mentioned a few times here: http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/07/06/bud-selig-no-changes-to-instant-replay-all-star-home-field-in/

Are baseball players that don't wear batting gloves more tough then the wimps that do?
Very few like Vlad Guerrero that don’t wear gloves, wristbands, elbow pads & all that sissy stuff.
Is he a tough hombre compared to the guys that wear the gloves?
